Italian Delegation To Visit Delaware County Saturday

As part of Columbus Day festivities, Delaware County will play host to a delegation of Italian officials Saturday, Oct. 8, the Delaware County District Attorney's Office said Thursday.

According to the DA's Office, 14 police officers and elected officials will be at the county courthouse 10 a.m. to meet with local police and Delaware County officials.

The delegation from Ariano, Italy will see a demonstration of various emergency activities, including SWAT responses, bomb disposal, and emergency vehicle action courtesy of the DA's Criminal Investigative Division and the Media Borough Police Department.

The delegation and county officials will be exchanging of gifts ceremony with the District Attorney Jack Whelan and County Council members after the demonstration. Following the exchange, the Italian delegation will tour Media, ending at Ariano Italian Restaurant where the county will host a block party for the public.
