Man Shoots Stepson Just Before Christmas In Delco: Police

Attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related charges have been filed after a man shot his stepson on Saturday in Delco, police said.

Kendall Anthony Seawright, of Clifton Heights, was charged with attempted murder, felony aggravated assault, felony endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime.

CLIFTON HEIGHTS, PA — A man was charged with attempted murder and more after authorities in Delaware County said he shot his stepson just two days before Christmas.

Clifton Heights Police said Kendall Anthony Seawright, of Clifton Heights, was taken into custody on Saturday after a shooting on the 100 block of West Broadway Avenue in Clifton Heights.

Police found a 24-year-old male, identified as Seawright's stepson, with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Seawright was the identified gunman, police said.

He has been charged with attempted murder, felony aggravated assault, felony endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime, according to court documents.

The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Seawright surrendered to police at the scene.

He was free on $500,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned Saturday.

Seawright is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 9, 2024, court records show.
