Middletown Chick-fil-A Opens with Fanfare

More than 100 people camped out overnight to celebrated the new stand-alone restaurant chain on Baltimore Pike.

The new, stand alone Middletown Township Chick-fil-A restaurant is officially open for business.

More than 125 people showed up Wednesday morning in the hopes of winning the . The campers braved the wet and chilly weather overnight Wednesday while they waited to hear the raffle results. The 52 winning coupons were awarded at 6 a.m. Thursday when the store officially opened for business.

Along with Franchise Owners Todd and Sharon Kanzinger, several people in attendance at the restaurant's ribbon cutting included, representatives from the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Middletown Township Manager Bruce Clark and PA State Rep. Thomas Killion.

Todd Kanzinger, of Garnet Valley, said opening day was going exceptionally well.

"Today has been awesome," he said.

He said 14 Marines helped them raise their flag Thursday morning and he took a giant bite of his Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich during the First Bite Ceremony.

By 1 p.m. Thursday the store had already seen more than 615 guests come through its doors.

The new Chick-fil-A restaurant is located at 1190 W. Baltimore Pike in the Lima section of Middletown Township. It's open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and serves a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m.
