Murder, More Charges Filed After 2 Killed On I-95 In Delco

Authorities said a Chester man has been charged with murder and related crimes in the deaths of Joshua Waltz and Clinton Martin on I-95.

RIDLEY, PA — Pennsylvania State Police said a man has been arrested and charged in connection with two September deaths on Intestate 95 north in Delaware County.

According to police, Marquice N. Pierce, of Chester, has is charged with two counts each of criminal homicide and third-degree murder. He is also charged with one count of first-degree murder, firearm violations, possession of an instrument of crime, receiving stolen property, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Killed were Clinton Martin, 29, of Lansdowne, and Joshua Waltz, 33, of Odessa, Delaware, at about 9:58 p.m. on Sept. 15.

Martin was found suffering from a gunshot wound in his gray 2010 Mazda 5 on the I 95 N ramp to Interstate 476 north just prior to Exit 1 to Macdade Boulevard. Waltz was dead under the Mazda.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said an investigation revealed Waltz had been outside his 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, which was disabled on the ramp.

About a quarter of a mile south of Waltz and his vehicle, the Mazda crashed into the right concrete barrier and drove along the barrier, all while heading toward Waltz and his vehicle.

The Mazda then struck fatally Waltz and the Malibu.

Pierce was charged Monday following an extensive investigation, authorities said.

Charging documents were not immediately available for Pierce.
