Pair Embezzled $53K From Delco Marine Corps League: DA

The Commandant of the Upland Chapter of the League​ and the Chapter Paymaster are accused conspiring to steal $53,000 from the league.

MEDIA, PA — A Delaware County man and a New Jersey woman are facing charges for allegedly embezzling funds from the Marine Corps League of Delaware County, according to authorities.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer Friday said Alan Staniskis, 48, of Swarthmore, and Kera Kiss, 39 of Mullica Hill, New Jersey were taken into custody and arraigned on charges of felony theft, conspiracy and possession of stolen property.

Stakiskis was the Commandant of the Upland Chapter of the League and Kiss was the Chapter Paymaster.

Staniskis is accused of issuing several payments to him from the organization’s accounts totaling more than $53,000. Authorities said Kiss is alleged to have altered the organization’s books and ledgers to hide these improper withdrawals.

They were arrested on Thursday and released on unsecured bail after being arraigned
