Kindergartener Stabbed 3 Students In Delco School: Officials
A kindergarten student suffered a mental health crisis and stabbed three others with a pencil, the Chester Upland School District said.
CHESTER, PA — Three students were stabbed at a Delaware County school Thursday, according to officials.
The Chester Upland School District said at about 9:15 a.m., a kindergarten student at the Chester Upland School of the Arts suffered a mental health crisis.
During the crisis, three other students were stabbed with a pencil by the student suffering the crisis, officials said.

The district said they suffered minor injuries that were treated by the school nurse. They were released to their families.
EMS personnel and local police came to the school to help de-escalate the situation.

The student suffering the mental health crisis was taken out of the school and released to parents. Subsequent disciplinary action will be evaluated and assessed according to the district's protocol.
"CUSA and CUSD extend their deepest gratitude to the security guards and staff members who swiftly acted to ensure the safety of all students and staff," a statement from the district said. "CUSD understands the unsettling nature of this incident and is dedicated to providing support to all those affected. Families with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to school administration."
