Wawa Brings Concept Plan to Edgmont Twp.

The Edgmont Planning Commission heard Wawa's sketch proposal for a store and gas station at Landmark Drive and Providence Road.

Wawa representatives, who presented a sketch proposal to the Edgmont Planning Commission last month, will now present again to township supervisors and planners in a joint meeting on Feb. 13.

Wawa has presented a concept plan, meaning no action will be taken, for a proposed store and gas station at the Landmark Drive property off of Providence Road near West Chester Pike in Edgmont Township, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Traffic was the main concern for Edgmont planners and one option Wawa presented included the widening of portions of Providence Road, according to the Delco Times.

Traffic was also a large concern when Wawa brought a preliminary plan to Media Borough for the vacant Media Inn property.

Wawa pulled that application in December after the Media Planning Commission denied a zoning change for the property, which was necessary for the project to move forward.
