• Major $20.5 Million Resurfacing Project To Begin On I-79 In Mercer County (explorevenango.com) — Expect major lane restrictions and slower speeds on I-79 in Mercer County starting Monday, April 20, as PennDOT begins a $20.5 million resurfacing project. Work will span more than 13 miles, including key stretches near the I-80 interchange, and is expected to last through late 2026, so regular commuters should plan for delays and changing traffic patterns.
   

• Mercer County House Inferno Claims Mom, 2 Kids in Overnight Tragedy (hoodline.com) — A devastating early-morning house fire in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, claimed the lives of a mother and two of her children after firefighters discovered them inside their Walnut Street home. The Mercer County coroner has identified the victims, while state police fire investigators continue probing the cause as neighbors and local officials rally around surviving family members and first responders.
