The University of Pittsburgh Performs Educational Experiments with Holy Trinity Catholic School Students

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, PA (March 2016) — The University of Pittsburgh made a visit to Holy Trinity Catholic School in early March to educate students on the effects of nicotine. The students in grades 6-8 completed experiments on planarian (worms) and their response to nicotine. Students placed worms in varying concentrations nicotine and recorded responses & spastic behavior. These experiments are incredibly impactful, due to the fact that worms exhibit the same genetic susceptibility & behavioral responses to nicotine as observed in humans.
