Explore 'Women in the Time of the American Revolution' at 11 AM followed by 'The Declaration of Independence: America's Birth Certificate' at 2 PM, with free admission for both sessions.

Historic Summerseat will be hosting Speaker Extradoninare, Joel Farkas – (Ohio State Univ., US Army Officer, NPS Docent, LLI Rutgers, LLI Fairleigh Dickinson, NPS Challenge Award) for a day of knowledge with his two incredible lectures:

11AM – Remember the Ladies: Women in the Time of the American Revolution
Lecture L-3 Women played critical roles during the Revolutionary War. Come learn what it was like to be a woman then-Attitudes towards women, health and medicine. What First Ladies Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Martha Jefferson, and Dolly Madison contributed to our nation. What lessons were learned after the war.

2PM – The Declaration of Independence: America's Birth Certificate
Lecture L-9 The Whole Story of The Declaration of Independence. The quest for personal rights took hundreds of years to accomplish-and culminated in the writings of our founding fathers, being ever perfected since that time, leading to the freedoms we have in our nation today.
