• Mount Carmel woman pleads guilty to 22 cruelty to animal charges; co-defendant set for trial (alliednews.com) — A Mount Carmel resident has pleaded guilty to multiple felony animal cruelty charges after authorities found dead and severely neglected dogs at a Point Township home last year. She will be sentenced later, while a co-defendant from Northumberland is scheduled for trial this week. The case involved local police, the county district attorney, and the Pennsylvania SPCA.
