• Police find 45-year-old man dead in home after standoff in Mount Penn (tncontentexchange.com) — An hours-long police response in Mount Penn Borough ended with officers finding a 45-year-old man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the basement of his Hollywood Avenue home. Central Berks police and the county emergency response team evacuated the house after a sudden flash and fire, contained a small basement blaze from outside, and kept neighbors away while they investigated.
