• Nanticoke City to acquire former PA National Guard armory (citizensvoice.com) — Nanticoke is set to buy the former Pennsylvania Army National Guard armory on Main Street for $860,000, with the state requiring it be used for municipal purposes. City officials haven’t decided on a specific use yet, but Mayor Kevin Coughlin and state Sen. Lisa Baker say the transfer opens the door for a new community-focused role for the long-standing armory site. 
• July 11 – 12, 2026 (pasenategop.com) — State lawmakers advanced a large batch of bills, including HB 2559, which covers land conveyances in several communities such as Nanticoke in Luzerne County. While details for the Nanticoke parcel aren’t broken out here, the measure is part of the broader 2026–27 budget and capital planning package that could eventually affect how certain state-owned properties are used locally.
