Nazareth Area School Board Primary Election Clarified
With loss of two-year seat in the May 21 primary election, the Nazareth Area School Board race is broken down with the changes.

With the recent loss of a two-year seat in the upcoming Nazareth Area School Board race, Schools Superintendent Dennis Riker has sent out a notice clarifying the May 21 primary election with the changes:
Region I
- Kenneth Butz and Chris Miller’s terms continue through 2015.
- Lorin Bradley's term ends at the end of 2013.

Region II
- Linda McDonald and Darrell Crook’s seats are both up this year (2013). Again, their seats are each four-year terms.
- When Thomas Maher was re-elected, his seat was a four-term term through 2015. Upon his untimely death, Robert Pinel replaced Maher until the election period this year; therefore, Pinel’s seat is currently up for election; but it is only for a two-year term, which will end in 2015.
Region III

- Jerry Treon’s term is up in 2015.
- Maurice Heller’s term is up this year (2013) and is a four-year term.
- When Christian Audenried left the board, Dominic Villani replaced him until the election period, which is the same as was done with Maher; however, the only difference is Maher’s term expires in 2015, whereas Audenried’s term expires in 2013. Therefore, unlike the case with Maher’s position, Audenried’s seat (Villani’s seat) is for a four-year term.
- In Region III, there are two four-year terms and there are no two-year terms.
- Villani, Heller, and Linda Stubits are running for one of these four-year seats. It is our understanding that Zackary Audenried, Christian's son, only applied for the two-year term, which is not in existence. The administration contacted the Northampton County Election Board and asked for a ruling in reference to the eligibility of Audenried in respect to the four-year term and the clarification of the seats available.
