• Nursing aide charged with abuse of dementia patient in Nazareth, police say (lehighvalleylive.com) — Nazareth police have charged a certified nursing assistant with abusing a dementia patient at Moravian Hall Square after the resident was found with bruised wrists and the aide admitted using "a good amount" of pressure. The facility says the incident was reported immediately, the aide is no longer employed there, and a court hearing is set as the case moves forward. 
• Pa. home invasion: Woman beaten in attic by 5 attackers, cops say (pennlive.com) — A 22-year-old woman from Nazareth and four teens are charged in a violent Bethlehem home invasion where a woman was beaten in her attic and threatened with a gun, police say. Several defendants, including the Nazareth woman, have posted bail, while the alleged ringleader remains jailed as Northampton County court hearings approach in early October.
• Allentown Central Catholic girls soccer player and Nazareth football player are Athlete of the Week winners (centredaily.com) — A Nazareth High School football standout has been named an Astound Athlete of the Week after a dominant defensive performance in a 35-0 win over Freedom. Local fans can keep supporting Nazareth athletes by voting each week in The Morning Call's online poll, which runs Monday to Thursday and feeds into scholarship awards.
