• Smoke on the Rail BBQ Fest Returns to New Freedom (macaronikid.com) — New Freedom residents can look forward to the Smoke on the Rail BBQ Festival returning to Marge Goodfellow Park July 24–26, bringing top pitmasters, live music, and family activities to town. The KCBS-sanctioned event is now a qualifier for the 2027 BBQ World Cup, spotlighting New Freedom as a Mid-Atlantic barbecue destination and boosting Southern York County tourism and local businesses.

• Gillice Present A Kids Drive-In Movie Sponsord by Emerald Garden (macaronikid.com) — Families in New Freedom are invited to a kids’ drive-in style screening of Inside Out at Smith Woods, 150 E. Main Street, on July 18. Kids can build cardboard cars that morning, then return at dusk for the movie, with Gillice concessions serving burgers, popcorn, snacks, and drinks for a relaxed community night out.
