• CASE: New Kensington Police make multiple arrests in copper thefts from building (crimewatch.net) — New Kensington police have charged at least eight people after repeated break-ins and copper thefts at the former Citizens General Hospital property near Industrial Boulevard. Officers say they recovered copper wire, cutting tools, and drugs during multiple visits to clear the building. All charges remain accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
   

• Decorated Westmoreland County veteran honored after 75 years MIA (wtae.com) — A New Kensington native, Korean War PFC Roland Bowser, was finally honored close to home as his belongings returned to Westmoreland County during Lower Burrell’s Memorial Day ceremonies after 75 years missing in action. His sister and local veterans described the emotional closure of knowing his remains rest at Arlington while his memory is celebrated in the community where he grew up.
