2 Lambertville Residents Killed In Rt. 29 Crash: Police

Mark Leary Jr., 58, and Arthur Reed, 42, were killed in the Monday afternoon crash, which involved a dump truck. Reed was driving the Ford Crown Victoria that was hit head-on by a dump truck near Valley Road in Hopewell Township. Leary was a passenger.

The driver of the truck, 59-year-old James Bilton of Edgewater Park, N.J., is facing summonses of failure to maintain lane and careless driving.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hopewell Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team.

Leary was a lifelong Lambertville resident and a member of the Lambertville Fire Department for more than four decades. The evening of the crash, the department broke the tragic news of Leary's death via Facebook.

Leary also served as a United States Marine.
