Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve Gets $35K In CARES Funding

New Hope Historical Society also got some of the $20 million in CARES funding announced for Pennsylvania cultural institutions.

NEW HOPE, PA — Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope will receive $34,977 as part of $20 million in CARES funding allocated to Pennsylvania cultural organizations.

The preserve is among five cultural organizations in Bucks County that received a total of $211,408 in funding through the COVID-19 Cultural and Museum Preservation Grant Program, administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Funds may be used to offset lost revenue for eligible cultural organizations and museums that had to close due to Pennsylvania's coronavirus safety measures when Gov. Tom Wolf declared a disaster emergency on March 6.

"Pennsylvania's museums and cultural organizations provide education, entertainment, and meaningful experiences to both residents and travelers alike, and the COVID-19 pandemic severely inhibited their ability to fulfill their cultural mission," said Wolf. "This funding will be used to offset the impact the pandemic had on these organizations and will help them move forward in their recovery efforts as they begin to welcome visitors back in their doors."
