Bucks Co. Riverfront Town Named "Most Charming" In PA

NEW HOPE, PA — New Hope has done it again. This time, the riverfront community has earned the title of the "Most Charming Small Town" in Pennsylvania.

Out of Pennsylvania's hundreds of small towns, the writers at Afar, an award-winning travel media website and publication, have selected the Bucks County community as the best small town in Pennsylvania in its compilation of "The Most Charming Small Town in Every U.S. State."

The writers at Afar single out the Bucks County Playhouse, the OldeStone Steakhouse, and the New Hope Railroad as their reasons for picking New Hope as the "Most Charming" in Pennsylvania.

"Every summer since 1939, theater lovers have flocked to this corner of Pennsylvania — a few miles upriver from where Washington crossed the Delaware — to catch a show at the Bucks County Playhouse," writes Afar. "Housed in an 18th-century grist mill that was rescued from demolition, the theater has attracted performers like Grace Kelly, Liza Minnelli, and Robert Redford."

The writers also mention the OldStone Steakhouse located inside a converted 1872 stone church; Manoff Market and Cidery; the New Hope Winery; the New Hope Railroad; the Ghost Light Inn; and the nearby Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve.

Located along the Delaware River in Bucks County, New Hope offers a unique blend of old-world charm and contemporary flair. The town is a cultural hub, celebrated for its eclectic mix of art galleries, live entertainment, unique dining and boutique shops.
