Bucks County Man Hurt In Delaware River Swimming Accident
The accident happened Sunday afternoon at the Lambertville Wing Dam when a man in his 30s dove into the river.
LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. — A Bucks County man was injured Sunday afternoon in a swimming accident in the Delaware River at Lambertville.
The Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad, Lambertville Fire Department, HMC Paramedics and the Lambertville City Police Department were dispatched at 3:50 p.m. to the Lambertville Wing Dam for a man with a head laceration.
Police arrived on scene and spoke with a man from Doylestown in his 30s who had walked out from the canal towpath to the dam. The man then dove headfirst into the river, struck a large rock under the water and suffered a deep laceration on his head, requiring advanced medical care, police said.

A MedEvac helicopter from the New Jersey State Police was requested and landed at Ely Field shortly thereafter. The man was transported to Capital Health Trauma Center in Trenton.
