Bucks County Playhouse Season Tickets Now Available For Summer 2022

NEW HOPE, PA — Season tickets are now on sale for summer 2022 at Bucks County Playhouse. This summer, the Playhouse will present "American Jade," "Dames at Sea," "Kinky Boots," and "Evita."

Season ticket packages include "the best seats at the best available prices, free ticket exchanges, discounts on extra tickets, reserve valet parking in advance, special offers and events, PlayhousePlus perks, and much more!"

Here's the plot summary for each show, from the playhouse website:

American Jade, May 20-June 11

"The first Asian-American to win an Emmy in any acting category, Jodi Long breaks barriers even as she follows in her family’s well-worn footsteps. Jodi’s Chinese-Australian, tap-dancing father and Japanese American mother were a popular nightclub act on the Chop Suey Circuit in the 1940s and ‘50s. Her parents appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, and her father even made it to Broadway. 'American Jade' brings her entire family’s story to life — chronicling their ups and downs both on stage and off. At the center of Jodi’s journey are imprints. The ones we are born with, the emotional imprints from our family and the societal imprints that are thrust upon us, executed with grace and zeal, 'American Jade' is a story of humor, passion, and perseverance against insurmountable odds and the ravages of racism."

Kinky Boots, June 24-July 30

"When Charlie Price’s father suddenly dies, he inherits the family business – a shoe factory on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and with nowhere to turn, Charlie finds inspiration in Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible. 'Kinky Boots' is the recipient of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Musical."

Dames at Sea, Aug. 12-Sept. 11

"In the tradition of Bucks County Playhouse’s '42nd Street,' 'Dames at Sea' is the tap-happy stage musical that will lift your spirits! Ruby steps off a bus from Utah and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening night curtain is to rise, the cast learns their theater is being demolished. So, Ruby and the cast, with the help of some adoring sailors, come up with an ingenious plan to ensure that the show goes on!"

Evita, Sept. 23-Oct.30

"An exciting new twist on Andrew Lloyd Weber’s iconic musical, 'Evita' will close the subscription season. This new production takes place in the basement of an Argentinean Tango bar, where a group of Evita’s supporters assemble every year to remember her political legacy. The classic score features some of Webber and Tim Rice’s biggest hits, including “'Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,'” “'High Flying, Adored'” and “'Another Suitcase in Another Hall.'”
