Cooling Center To Open At Lambertville's Justice Center
With a heat wave arriving on Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to reach between 95 and 105 degrees this week.
LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. — A cooling center will be open in Lambertville for those who need to escape the heat this week at the Justice Center (25 South Union Street) on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
High temperatures Wednesday through Saturday are forecast to range from 95 to 105 degrees, with the hottest weather on Thursday and Friday, with heat index values of between 100 and 110 degrees. Overnight low temperatures will offer little to no relief.
City officials said the combination of very hot and humid conditions (near record-breaking) for multiple consecutive days, will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses, especially for the elderly and the young.

Stay Cool
Spend time in air-conditioned buildings. If your home lacks AC, visit public libraries, malls, or designated cooling centers.
Limit outdoor activities to the cooler morning and evening hours, and take frequent breaks in the shade.
Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing. Cool down your skin by taking cool showers or baths, or by applying damp cloths to your body.
Stay Connected & Safe
Check on family, friends, and neighbors who may not have air conditioning or who are vulnerable to extreme heat.
Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle, as temperatures can quickly become deadly.
