Car Gets Stuck On Railroad Tracks In New Hope; Driver Charged With DUI

The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Middletown, N.J., told police she thought she was turning into a parking lot.

NEW HOPE BOROUGH, PA — A 27-year-old woman from Middletown, New Jersey, faces DUI charges after her car got stuck on the railroad tracks in New Hope Borough.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, New Hope Borough Police Officers responded to West Ferry Street at Stockton Avenue for a vehicle stuck approximately 15 feet south on the railroad tracks.

The driver, a 27 year-old woman from Middletown, N.J., told police she thought she was turning into a parking lot.

Based on an investigation, the officers formed the opinion the driver was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs to a degree which rendered her incapable of safely driving.

The driver was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
