CARVERSVILLE, PA — In response to the need for more blood donors in the Bucks County area, Carversville United Church of Christ is teaming up with the American Red Cross for a community blood drive on Saturday, March 25. All potential donors in good health are welcome and each will be properly screened on site for eligibility.CAR
“Chances are that someone you know will need blood during your lifetime. In fact, every two seconds someone in America needs blood, from trauma victims to cancer patients, mothers giving birth to premature babies and so many more,” said Barbara Burger, Missions Committee Chair at Carversville United Church of Christ. “In our local area, the Red Cross has been in need of more donors so community drives such as this make a big difference.”
Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone and is often used to treat trauma patients. Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows high standards of safety and infection control. The Red Cross takes precautions to help ensure the safety of its employees, volunteers, and donors.
