Deadline Looms For 2023 Snow Folk Art Contest In Solebury

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Snow Folk Art is back for the holidays thanks to Solebury Township Parks and Recreation and Niece Lumber.

Participants can win cash prizes and will have their artistic creations displayed at the municipal building through January 5, 2024.

A Snow Folk Art project begins with a two-by-four wood cut-out in the shape of a traditional snowman. Participants then create whatever they can imagine using materials and colors that represent the spirit of the holidays.

Cash prizes will be awarded in four different categories - Parent/child up to age 8; parent/child 9 to 12; individual (13 to 18); and group/school/adults.

Pick up a cut-out and entry form at the Solebury Township Municipal building. Contestants start with a blank cut-out and create whatever they can imagine. There is a $5 entry fee.

Prizes include a $125 (first prize for the overall winner); $75 (second place); and $50 (third place). Category winners will win $25 (overall winners excluded). And group/school/adults: $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place.

Drop off completed snowman by Dec 20 at the Solebury Township Municipal Building, 3092 North Sugan Road in Solebury between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Niece Lumber, 2 Elm Street, Lambertville, is the sponsor of the contest and has provided all of the blank wood Snow Folk for participants to create their artistic winter wonder. All entries will be judged on December 21.

Stop by the Township Municipal building to take your entry home beginning Jan 2. After Jan 5, remaining entries will simply melt away.
