Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids Comes to Music Mountain Theatre

Starting this weekend, Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids will delight audiences at Music Mountain Theatre in Lambertville.

It’s Princess Aurora’s 16th birthday and three fairies – Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather - must use their magic to save her from the spell of the evil sorceress, Maleficent. The fairies ensure Aurora only falls into a deep sleep that can be ended with a kiss from her betrothed, Prince Phillip. To prevent Phillip from rescuing Aurora, Maleficent kidnaps and imprisons him. Will the good fairies free Phillip in time to awaken Aurora? Find out at Music Mountain Theatre!

Starring in this production is Abby Harnum as Aurora. Harnum is a rising senior at Bordentown Regional High School. She is a member of the Music Mountain Theatre Junior Company and her favorite company experience was in Footloose. Harnum is excited to bring Aurora to life, as Aurora serves as a role model for many young girls as she teaches them to follow their heart, no matter what the circumstances.

Harnum says that the best part of the show is the element of fun, as a lot of the youth company performers are goofy and silly and are always having fun. Audiences will also enjoy classic, beautiful songs from the hit Disney movie.

The theatre will offer ASL interpreted performances on July 28.

Music Mountain Theatre is a 250-seat theatre located adjacent to the historic site of the Lambertville Music Circus. The theatre provides a full year of both mainstage and children’s theatre. Next up on the mainstage is Oklahoma (August 3-19).

Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids opens July 27 and runs through August 4 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 11am and 1pm. Tickets are $8 and are available online at www.musicmountaintheatre.org.
