A 23-year-old dog walker is facing theft charges for allegedly stealing more than $44K in items from a Hunterdon County customer.

A 23-year-old dog walker has been indicted on theft charges after investigators said she stole more than $44,600 worth of valuables from a customer, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III announced Thursday.

Alexandria Peterson, 23, of Glen Gardner has been indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury for two counts of theft and receiving stolen property. Kearns said Peterson operated a dog walking business and often used a Facebook advertisement posted on Lebanon Township Community Forum to promote her services.

Authorities said she took the items from a homeowner in Tewksbury Township, while actively engaged in walking the homeowner’s pets.
