Firefighters Respond To Large Brush Fire In Solebury Township

SOLEBURY, PA — Firefighters from throughout Bucks, Montgomery and Hunterdon County, New Jersey remained on the scene Friday night fighting a brush fire along the tracks at Stoney Hill Road, Lower Mountain Road and Aquetong Road.
Bucks County firefighters were called to the scene around 3 p.m., according to the Solebury Township Police.
In an update posted at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, police said a large multi-county response was underway to combat the fire, with numerous fire departments from Bucks, Montgomery County and New Jersey working to contain the blaze.

The Midway Volunteer Fire Company reported that a regional task force from Montgomery County had been called in to assist with the call. Units from across the river in Hunterdon County, N.J., were also dispatched.
In addition, Midway reported that a New Hope & Ivyland Railroad Tanker was on the scene supplying water and dozers and a skid steer were being used to cut a fire line to prevent the further spread of the fire.

"According to reports from the command post, no property damage has been reported, and emergency responders will continue to work through the night to ensure the safety of local residents," police said.
The public is reminded that the landscape remains extremely dry and vulnerable to fires. After more than a month without substantial rainfall, the county and many local municipalities have implemented burn bans. Motorists are also asked not to discard cigarette butts out of their car windows, which could easily ignite the dry brush.
