Human Remains Found Along Delaware River
Human remains were found along the Delaware River this week, Hunterdon County authorities announced Wednesday.

FRENCHTOWN, NJ — Human remains were found along the Delaware River in Frenchtown this week, Hunterdon County authorities announced Wednesday.
According to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, the remains were discovered on Aug. 27 along "a flood susceptible island on the Delaware River." No further details on the location of the remains were released. The person who discovered them reported it to the Frenchtown Borough Police Department.
Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Frenchtown Borough Police Department responded to the scene to investigate.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office detectives are working with the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit, Hunterdon County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the State Park Police to identify the remains and a cause of death, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when available, the prosecutor's office said.
