Hundreds Cheer On High Heel Halloween Drag Race In New Hope
"Thank you for celebrating Halloween in the most magical town in the world," said Miss Pumpkin, who welcomed everyone to this year's event.
NEW HOPE, PA — If wearing three inch high heels isn't hard enough, try racing up a hill and carrying a pumpkin!
But this year's race participants made it look easy at the 18th Annual High Heel Drag Race presented by New Hope Celebrates stepped off on Sunday.
Mechanic Street was jammed with onlookers and supporters for the long-standing tradition - a highlight of the fall season in New Hope. This year's theme was, "All that Glitters Are Ghouls - Bewitching Beauties Who Sparkle, Shine and Know How to Have a Scary Good Time!"

Mayor Laurence Keller was on hand to officially start the race.

Race participants were required to dress in costume and wear three-inch or taller high heels. Runners also had to carry a pumpkin up the hill on W. Mechanic Street, decorate a pumpkin and then race back down the hill.
Immediately after, a High Heel Drag Race After Party took place at Havana New Hope.
