Hunterdon County Town Named New Jersey's Best For Families

A Hunterdon County town was named the best place in New Jersey for families, according to the 2017 rankings by New Jersey Family.

New Jersey's best town for families is right here in Hunterdon County, according to one resource.

New Jersey Family, a resource for local parents, has announced New Jersey’s "Best Towns for Families 2017."

The town of Clinton, located in Hunterdon County about 20 miles north of Lambertville, tops this year’s list. The list ranks 511 New Jersey towns "through the lens" of how family friendly they are, from top to bottom (see list below).

Lambertville came in towards the middle of the list, ranking 303rd.

“This year, we reworked our algorithm to take a deeper dive into high school performance while also weighing things like safety, how affordable a town is, average commute time and more criteria that matters to families,” says Cindy Mironovich, New Jersey Family’s publisher and founder.

Other Hunterdon County towns that ranked in the top 100 include:

  • Bethlehem Township (5th)
  • Union Township (27th)
  • Clinton Township (36th)
  • Franklin Township (40th)
  • Readington Township (56th)
  • Lebanon Township (79th)
  • Flemington (80th)
  • Delaware Township (92nd)
  • Raritan (99th)

East Amwell was ranked 103rd. West Amwell was ranked 205th.
