Police Identify Man Who Drowned In Delaware River On July 4
The 27-year-old man was swimming with family and friends when the current pulled him under, sources say.
SOLEBURY, PA — Authorities have identified the 27-year-old man who died swimming in the Delaware River on July 4. Marvin Lemus Nolasco, 27, of Philadelphia drowned while swimming in the river near Washington Crossing Park, authorities said.
Nolasco was swimming with family and friends when the current pulled him under, sources said.
Solebury Police are now warning residents to use caution in the river. “Strong currents and pockets of deep water are always present and again we urge all to use extreme caution in the water,” Detective Jonathan Koretzky said, according to the Trentonian.

Sunday's incident unfolded around 1:15 p.m., when officers responded to a call for a swimmer in distress in the Delaware River along the 1600 block of River Road.
Eyewitnesses told police the man was swimming and was pulled under the water. Authorities recovered the body about 90 minutes later.

The man was pronounced dead by the Bucks County Coroner's Office.
Marine and dive rescue units from New Hope Eagle Fire Co., Lambertville New Hope Rescue, Point Pleasant Fire Co., Upper Makefield Fire Co., Lower Southampton Fire Department and Central Bucks EMS responded to the scene.
