Meet The Candidates For New Hope Mayor At Thursday Event

Both candidates for New Hope Borough Mayor will be present for a public event on Thursday, Oct. 19 at The Dubliner in New Hope. The event will be a chance for candidates to speak, followed by questions from the public.

It starts at 7 p.m., according to an event posting by the New Hope Chamber of Commerce.

Incumbent Larry Keller, a Republican, faces Democratic challenger Geri Delevich in the Nov. 7 election.

According to information from New Hope Borough, the key duties of the mayor are to work with the police chief to set police policy and make emergency proclamations. The mayor also attends council meetings, voting when there is a tie, and represents the borough in local functions.

The mayor may also perform weddings.
