New Hope Borough Council Hires Part-Time Police Officer

The hiring brings the department up to a full complement of part-time officers, according to Mayor Larry Keller.

NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Borough Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to hire Shawn Cottee as its newest part-time officer.

Cottee is an Emergency Medical Technician with the Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and a lieutenant with the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department.

According to Mayor Larry Keller, the hiring will bring the part-time staff up to full complement, which he credited Chief Kevin Edwards with achieving.

“He’s a very nice guy and he will fit in well with our officers,” said the mayor of the new hire.

Cottee will be paid $35 an hour to do the job.
