New Hope Borough Investigating Employees' Possible Involvement In Financial Scam, Officials Say

The investigation involves an internal employment investigation, as well as a criminal investigation, according to a statement.

NEW HOPE, PA -- New Hope Borough says it is conducting an investigation to determine whether or not it has been potentially victimized by a scheme targeting money and financial information, according to a statement on the borough's website. The investigation involves an internal employment investigation, as well as a criminal investigation, according to the statement.

The investigation will determine if any borough employees were involved in the scheme and also to determine if a crime was committed, the statement said. "As the Borough’s investigation is a personnel matter, Council will not have any additional comment on the investigation at this time," the statement said.

"Presently, we do not believe that there has been any loss sustained by the borough, nor was any information breached or accessed," authorities said on the borough website.
