New Hope Celebrates Launches "I Am New Hope: Every Color Tells A Story" Campaign
The community campaign combines storytelling with limited-edition merchandise to celebrate identity, history, and belonging.

NEW HOPE, PA — New Hope Celebrates (NHC) has announced the launch of i am new hope: "Every Color Tells a Story," a year-long community campaign that combines storytelling with limited-edition merchandise to celebrate identity, history, and belonging - one color at a time.
A monthly release of limited-edition "i am new hope" t-shirts, each produced in a single exclusive color inspired by the Progress Pride Flag, will accompany the campaign.
"Each color represents a value, an experience, and a piece of who we are, individually and collectively. When the month ends, that color will be retired and no longer available, making way for the next chapter of the story," said the group.

Proceeds from the campaign will be dedicated to honoring the legacy of Gordon Pulaski, who served as creative director for NHC from 2009 to 2022 and whose vision helped shape the look, feel, and the spirit of the organization and the community it serves.
A Campaign Born in 2017
The campaign was first created in 2017 by NHC as a community awareness initiative in response to a
time of political transition and widespread uncertainty. At its core, the project was designed to offer
something intentionally positive - a message of hope, affirmation, and humanity when it was needed most.

The original concept centered on storytelling as a tool for connection. By sharing the lived experiences of people within the New Hope community, the campaign sought to celebrate differences, inspire understanding, and remind people of the shared bond that unites the community.
While each story may be different, the campaign reinforced a simple truth: "We are all human. Through the "i am new hope" campaign, NHC highlighted stories from local residents, leaders, workers, and visitors. These stories reflected the spirit of New Hope itself, a community long known as a haven for free-spirited, creative, and, above all, accepting people.

As Pulaski said in 2017, “New Hope has a history of the arts and acceptance, going way back to the 1930s and possibly before that. There’s a place to gather and be yourself. I think this message really starts to resonate.” Pulaski also noted, “People from all walks of life — black, white, gay, straight, etc. — really embraced the message.”
NHC founder Daniel Brooks emphasized the deeper meaning behind the campaign’s distinctive styling. “If you put it in capital letters, ‘New Hope’ talks specifically about the town itself — what its meaning is, as well as its diversity and history,” Brooks said. “And if you look at it the other way, without the capital letters — which is how our T-shirts read — people are wearing it as a symbol of their own ‘new hope’ for the future.”
Every Color Tells a Story
Building upon "i am new hope’s" original 2017 vision, “Every Color Tells a Story” expands into a year-long celebration of identity, history, and community, told one color at a time.
Rooted in the symbolism of the Progress Pride Flag, each month’s featured color will be paired with a personal story that reflects the experiences and voices of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Together, these stories will create a growing record of lived experience and community history, reinforcing the belief that Pride is not confined to a single month, but lived year-round.
“This campaign is important to NHC, and to me personally, because of what it represents and what it asks of us,” said Melissa Patterson, president of NHC. “It is about the responsibility we have to preserve the stories and history of our community, and it allows us to honor Gordon, a mentor and friend, whose presence and creativity played a significant role in shaping New Hope Celebrates.”
Honoring Gordon Pulaski’s Legacy
Proceeds from i am new hope: “Every Color Tells a Story” will be reserved with intention as NHC
thoughtfully determines the most meaningful way to honor the legacy of Gordon Pulaski. Gordon’s
contributions extended far beyond design. His creativity fostered visibility, belonging, and authenticity, values that remain central to NHC today.
Gordon’s mother, Kathleen Vorgang, shared her gratitude for the campaign and its impact.
“I’d like to thank New Hope Celebrates for all they do for our community. There are countless numbers of individuals who love and care so much for our little town and surrounding area. Gordon always said he was fortunate to live in such a place, where everyone felt free to be who they were. I love that we honor those who came before us to light the way. Show up as you are. Thank you for this way of remembering Gordon and his creativity.”
