A New Hope man who went missing over the weekend has been found dead, police said.

A New Hope man who went missing over the weekend has been found dead, police have confirmed.
According to Solebury Township Police, the body of 51-year-old William Allen Brewer was located in the canal in Stockton on Tuesday afternoon. Preliminary investigation indicates his death was accidental, according to police.
Brewer was last in communication with his family on Friday, May 25. He was seen along the canal towpath in Stockton, N.J. the next day, near Brookville Hollow Road, according to police.

His body was located at about 1 p.m. along the southern portion of the canal in Stockton after an extensive search utilizing rescue K9s, boats and divers, according to Solebury Township Police.
The investigation is ongoing by New Jersey State Police, Solebury Township Police and the Hunterdon County, N.J. Medical Examiners Officer.

Solebury Township Police Department was assisted by New Jersey State Police, Kingwood Barracks, Lambertville Police Department, Stockton Fire Co., Lambertville-New Hope Rescue, Hunterdon County EMS, New Hope Eagle Fire Co, Point Pleasant Fire Co., Dive Rescue, Garden State Search and Rescue, Columbia Fire Co. and detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutors Office.
