NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope-Solebury School District hosted a special event, a Career Pathways Orientation, sponsored by The Logan Inn on September 27 to support its brand-new Career Pathways program.

Career Pathways prompts students to select one of three pathways during their freshman year following a mandatory career exploration course. The pathways include Arts and Humanities, Business and Communications, and Health Sciences, STEAM, and Innovation.

Once a pathway is selected, students tailor their course selections to their chosen pathway and engage in a series of career exploration experiences aligned with it.

“The Career Pathways program was developed to enhance our career programming and to ensure our students’ future-readiness. Our district is deeply committed to giving students the knowledge and experiences they need to prepare for their future,” said Superintendent Dr. Charles Lentz.

The event at The Logan Inn was the school’s Career Pathway Orientation breakfast with refreshments and event space generously provided by the venue. Those who attended represent local businesses and professions that students have expressed interest to explore.

“We are looking to build a roster of individuals ready and willing to mentor and guide our students as they explore their career interests,” explained New Hope-Solebury High School’s College and Career Readiness Counselor Sarah Reeder. “This breakfast was an important opportunity for us to network with professionals who can support our efforts and to help them better understand the volunteer commitment.”

The school is seeking guest speakers, panelists, career fair presenters, mock interviewers, and those willing to host students for job shadowing and internship experiences. With the high school’s brand-new schedule, time for students to spend on career preparation is integrated into the school day, leaving many opportunities for community involvement.

“We are grateful to The Logan Inn for hosting this important event and helping us welcome new faces into our school community. As a district, we know that there are many individuals, organizations, and businesses we can partner with to support student success,” said Lentz. “We are very proud of the comprehensive career-minded educational program we have developed and excited to work with our community to build and implement it moving forward.”
