New Hope-Solebury School District Announces Delayed Opening

Overnight storm brought heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding to the New Hope-Solebury area.

NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope-Solebury School District will be operating on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday morning following the overnight storm that brought heavy rain, strong winds and flooding to the area.

At its height, numerous roads in Solebury Township were flooded or blocked by fallen trees and wires. Two township roads remain closed, according to police:

  • Comfort Road is closed between Hillcrest Circle and Laurel Road for a tree in the wires.
  • Route 32 (River Road) is closed between Route 232 and Aquetong Road.

The forecast for today is for brightening skies with a high temperature near 50. It will be breezy with a west wind 15 to 25 mph. Overnight it will be partly cloudy with a low around freezing.

On Thursday, expect sunny skies with a high near 46.

The next storm is forecast to move into the area on Friday evening with a 100 percent chance of rain on Friday night.

The weekend will be sunny but with dropping temperatures. The high will reach 55 degrees early on Saturday but then drop through the day. Sunday's high will only reach 36.

Looking ahead, a snowstorm may be on the horizon for Monday night into Tuesday.
