New Hope-Solebury Welcomes New Administrators For 2021-22

NEW HOPE, PA — Four new administrators will join the New Hope-Solebury School District, which will see students back in school Sep. 1.

The district has appointed a new assistant superintendent, upper elementary school principal, supervisor of student services, and director of food service.

"We are delighted to welcome these new members of our team, and we are confident in the energy and enthusiasm they will bring to their new positions," said superintendent Charles Lentz. "Each of them will provide critical support for our district’s initiatives.”

Rose Minniti, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent

Rose Minniti joins the New Hope-Solebury School District with nearly thirty years of experience in K-12 public education.

Most recently the Superintendent of Schools for Bristol Borough School District, Minniti has served in key leadership positions for Valley View School District (Superintendent), Abington Heights School District (Director of Math and Science), and West Scranton High School (Vice Principal and Principal), where she was instrumental in developing equity and inclusion strategies. She also instructed various forms of chemistry and biology for twelve years prior to her roles in district administration.

Minniti currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Wilkes University teaching Quantitative Research Methods. Her earned degrees include a B.S. in Biology, an M.S. in Affective Education, an M.S in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D. in K-12 Educational Leadership. Her doctoral thesis examined the use of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to increase professional collaboration and foster student growth and achievement.

Minniti believes the success of a School District lies in its leaders’ ability to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students to grow and develop as learners and citizens; to integrate quality programs and teaching strategies to foster 21st century skills; to serve the overarching needs of the community; and to nurture the whole child by providing diverse academic and extra-curricular opportunities.

“I look forward to working with Dr. Lentz, the administration, and all of the district stakeholders to honor the District’s tradition of excellence while developing systematic programs to support the success of every child," she said.

Colleen Bell, Supervisor of Student Services

Colleen Bell joins the New Hope-Solebury School District with over twenty years of experience as a learning support teacher, assistant principal, and supervisor of special education.

Bell has served in both urban and suburban settings through her positions with the Philadelphia School District and Pennsbury School District. Throughout her career, she has supported the needs of a variety of learners, from those with the most complex needs to those requiring gifted support.

She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts and a Masters in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. Additionally, she holds certificates in Elementary K-8, Special Education, and Principal K-12.

Bell resides in Bucks County with her husband Michael and three sons, Mason, Gabe, and Chase, and their two dogs Taz and Tegan.

“I am honored to serve New Hope-Solebury’s amazing schools and was inspired by the District’s attention to academic success and achievement," she said. "I look forward to working with each and every member of the New Hope-Solebury family and community.”

Jesse Brosious, Upper Elementary School Principal

Jesse Brosious previously worked with Central Bucks School District, where he served as the assistant principal of Butler Elementary School and later as the Principal of the Central Bucks Virtual Academy.

He started his career in 2006 as a kindergarten teacher in the Upper Dublin School District. During his tenure there, he instructed kindergarten, fourth, and fifth graders, and provided instructional coaching and STEM/Project-Based Learning training for his colleagues. He also served as a math coordinator and took on leadership responsibilities as the Summer Scholar/Extended School Year Principal.

Brosious holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from West Chester University, a master’s degree in education from Cabrini College, an Instructional Coaching certification from LaSalle University, and a Leadership Dynamics certification from the University of Pennsylvania.

He has worked extensively in the areas of diversity/equity, curriculum, strategic planning, and professional development to support teaching best practices.

“I believe all children are born with an innate curiosity to understand the world around them," he said. My motivation as an educator is to find ways to nurture their curiosity into a passion for life-long learning.”

He lives with his wife Allison and their three sons.

Katie Gioia DeVito, Director of Food Service

Katie Gioia DeVito has over eighteen years of food service experience in education, hotel, and restaurants.

She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with an associate’s degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. She graduated as a part of the ETA Sigma Delta National Hospitality Honor Society and earned awards for Leadership and Communication within her time at CIA.

Prior to joining the New Hope-Solebury School District, Gioia DeVito spent approximately nine years as the Norristown Area School District’s Food Production and Catering Manager. There she discovered her enthusiasm and passion for food service in K-12 schools.

Gioia DeVito is committed to school nutrition and offering meals that are colorful, nutritious, and of course, tasty. She is eager to reduce stigmas surrounding school meal programs by incorporating scratch cooking and locally-sourced ingredients into readily-available, healthy meals for students.

She is a member of the School Nutrition Association and has served as the Pennsylvania School Nutrition Association chapter seven president.

During her brief tenure with New Hope-Solebury, as she took over from her predecessor in June Gioia DeVito has enjoyed working in the district.

"I am eager to be a committed member of the leadership team and will strive to make a difference for the students with each meal served,” she said.

She said that in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her four children and family.
