NEW HOPE, PA -- Well here's something to flaunt: New Hope won second place in a nationwide competition for the best small town in the Northeast. The Best Small Town in the Northeast competition was part of USA Today's "10 Best" contest series, which explores the top destinations in various travel and leisure related categories.
Voting closed Monday, April 24. The first-place winner was Lenox, Mass. New Hope beat out stiff competition, like the charming towns of Bar Harbor, Maine and Cape May, N.J.
The news site says it asked a panel of local experts to nominate their favorite Northeastern small towns, and a USA Today editorial team narrowed it down to the 20 nominees. From there, online votes dictated the winner.
