Niche Ranks New Hope-Solebury Among Best Districts in PA

Niche, the leading platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools, has just published its 2023 Best Schools rankings.

PENNSYLVANIA — The New Hope-Solebury School District has been ranked the second best school district in Bucks County, the 20th best in Pennsylvania and the 271st best in the nation, according to Niche's 2023 List of Best Schools and Districts.

Niche, the leading platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools, has just published its new 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings. Now in its ninth year, the rankings include updated data for 92,743 public schools, 30,112 private schools, and 11,820 school districts
nationwide.

While traditional rankings rely almost exclusively on metrics like test scores and academic performance, Niche’s rankings combine user input — ratings from current students, alumni, and parents — with quantitative data from sources like the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, extracurricular activity opportunities and more. The 2023 Best Schools rankings include 2,906 newly ranked public schools, 1,018 newly ranked private schools, and 547 newly ranked school districts.

Niche gave the New Hope-Solebury School District A+ grades for academics, teachers, and college prep, an A for administration, a B for clubs and activities and a C for diversity.

"New Hope-Solebury School District is a top rated, public school district. It has 1,303 students in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1. According to state test scores, 72 percent of
students are at least proficient in math and 85 percent in reading," said Niche.

The district ranks 20th out of 495 as best school district in Pennsylvania, 20th out of 496 as best places to teach in Pennsylvania and 18th out of 496 as best teachers in Pennsylvania.

The district's high school ranks 2nd best public high school in Bucks County, 29th out of 677 as best public high school in Pennsylvania, 20th out of 654 as best college prep public high school in Pennsylvania and 39th out of 291 as best high school for STEM in Pennsylvania.

This year, for the first time ever, North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, N.C. has been named the No. 1 Best Public High School in America. It previously came in at No. 2 in 2022 and No. 4 in 2021. Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. remains the No. 1 Best Private High School in America for the third consecutive year. Since Niche first started ranking schools, Phillips Academy has been No. 1 every year except 2015 and 2020.

The top five Best School Districts in America come from just two major metropolitan areas. Adlai E. Stevenson High School District No. 125 in Chicago takes No. 1, followed by Chicago’s Glenbrook
High Schools District 225 at No. 2. The remainder of the top five are all located on Long Island in the NYC area: Great Neck Public Schools, Jericho Union Free School District, and Syosset Central School District rank No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 respectively.
