Officer To Share Active Shooter Safety Tips At Free Talk In Solebury

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Upper Makefield Police Officer Gerald Russi will speak about personal safety during a talk at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Officer Russi will share tips on personal safety during an Active Shooter Response.

Russi has been with the Upper Makefield Police Department since 2016 and has been an operator on the Central Bucks (SWAT) team since 2017. Through his SWAT team experience, he developed a focused interest in active shooter response, specifically in our schools, with principles that apply universally to other types of venues.

In 2018 he received sniper certification through Philadelphia SWAT and FBI training programs. His team has experience in high-risk warrants, barricaded subjects, hostage rescue, Hazmat/WMD mitigation, and helicopter operations.

Officer Russi is certified as an instructor in the ALICE active threat training.
