PECO To Upgrade Power Lines, Equipment In Solesbury Township

SOLEBURY, PA — Beginning in December, PECO will be upgrading and installing new equipment, including new poles and aerial wires in Solebury Township.

The project will involve the removal of trees and vegetation to modernize and enhance the local electric grid. The work may cause temporary delays or road closure.

The project is part of PECO’s Reliability & Resiliency Plan to invest $1.36 billion through 2025 on targeted reliability-focused infrastructure investments.

According to PECO, the accelerated investments will help strengthen the local electric infrastructure to better withstand more frequent and damaging storms, deliver enhanced reliability to the residents, and enable the adoption of clean energy resources.

There will be three different projects, all of which will be taking place in Solebury Township.

  • The first project will occur along Windy Bush and Great Oaks Roads.
  • The second project will occur along Laurel Road, Upper York Road, Center Bridge Road and Ely Road.
  • The third project will occur along Lower Mountain and Ingham Roads.

Tree work is scheduled to begin in December 2022 with construction beginning around February 2023. The project is expected to be completed by June 2023.
