PennDOT Completes Aquetong Road Culvert Replacement In Solebury

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reopened the highway over a branch of the Aquetong Creek.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Aquetong Road in Solebury Township has reopened following the completion of a culvert replacement over a branch of the Aquetong Creek.

The replacement is part of a project to maintain safe and efficient crossings for the traveling public in Bucks County.

Built in 1984, the structure was replaced with a new box culvert. The structure carries an average of 2,141 vehicles a day.

The Aquetong Road culvert is one of four structures in Bucks County that PennDOT is replacing under a $3.8 million project financed with 100 percent state funds. The others are in Richland Township, Haycock Township and Lower Makefield.

C. Abbonizio Contractors, Inc., of Sewell, New Jersey, is the general contractor on the culvert replacement project.
