Public Invited To "Reel In The Fun" At Free Fishing Event In Bucks

PA lawmaker hosting a free fishing, nature, and outdoor discovery day on Saturday at Washington Crossing Historic Park.

WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA — State Rep. Tim Brennan will host “Reelin’ in the Fun!” Fishing, Nature & Outdoor Discovery Day on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Thompson-Neely Pavilion.

The free event is intended to bring families together for hands-on outdoor education focused on fishing, environmental stewardship, recreation and local history. According to the event announcement, families, youth groups, community members and outdoor recreation partners are invited to attend.

Partner agencies scheduled to take part include the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Rep. Tim Brennan and his staff will also be there.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn basic fishing skills during the program. The event will include instruction and activities on casting, knot tying, baiting hooks, fish identification and fishing etiquette.

The program will also include environmental education tied to the Delaware Canal and the surrounding natural resources. Participants will have opportunities to learn more about Washington Crossing Historic Park’s history and outdoor recreation traditions.

The event is scheduled for the Thompson-Neely Pavilion at Washington Crossing Historic Park in Washington Crossing. It will run from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 2.

The event is free to attend and is aimed at bringing together residents interested in fishing, nature education and local history at one of Bucks County’s historic outdoor sites.

State Rep. Tim Brennan represents the 29th District of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. The district includes Doylestown Borough, Doylestown Township, Chalfont Borough, New Britain Borough, Buckingham Township, Solebury Township and New Hope Borough.
