Remains Found On Delaware River Island Identified

Authorities in Hunterdon County have identified the skeletal remains found last week on an island in the Delaware River near Frenchtown.

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ — Authorities in Hunterdon County have identified the skeletal remains found last week on an island in the Delaware River near Frenchtown as a 47-year-old Pennsylvania man missing since January.

The remains, found on Aug. 27, have been identified as Anthony J. Sisonick.

"Our condolences go out to Mr. Sisonick’s family and friends at this difficult time," Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III said in a statement.

According to a report by NJ.com, Sisonick is believed to have jumped off a bridge in Bethlethem Township in January. Authorities at the time had described him as a fugitive, saying he was wanted on forgery and identity theft charges, Lehighvalleylive.com reported.
