Reports: Bicyclists Struck, Police Make DWI Arrests In Lambertville

Pennsylvania man charged with stealing copper; charges pending against driver who crashed into CVS.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — The Lambertville, New Jersey Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 20 and May 1:

Thursday, April 20

  • At approximately 12:45 p.m., an individual with a scooter reported that while walking east on York Street in the area of Sheridan Park a man approached and struck the individual in the face after inquiring about the scooter. The assailant then fled on foot. Patrolman Bereheiko is investigating.

Saturday, April 22

  • At approximately 7:27 p.m., two bicyclists were struck by a vehicle in the area of Clinton and Delevan streets. The bicyclists sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene. Sergeant Memolo is investigating.

Saturday, April 29

  • At approximately 1:11 p.m., a vehicle crashed into the front of the CVS located on Cherry Street and continued driving. Fortunately no one was injured. The driver, Richard W. Burkholder Jr., was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Police determined that the act was not intentional. Sergeant Memolo is investigating with multiple charges pending.

  • At approximately 1:59 a.m., Zachariah S. Achenbach, 21, from Everitts Road in Ringoes, N.J., was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, careless driving and failure to maintain lane and improper turn. Patrolman Bereheiko was the arresting officer.

Monday, May 1

  • At approximately 1:55 a.m., Carlos A. Lauriano-Plaza, 27, from Bilper Avenue in Lindenwold, N.J., was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, careless driving and making an improper turn at an intersection. Lauriano-Plaza was released with a court date of June 7. Patrolman Bereheiko was the arresting officer.
  • At approximately 3:36 p.m., Adam M. Conrad, 43, from Effort Neola Road in Saylorsburg, Pa., was arrested and charged with the theft of copper and criminal trespass after being found on private property on North Main Street. Conrad was released with a court date of June 7. Detective Albani was the arresting officer.

Police remind residents to be cognizant of any suspicious persons requesting any monies or personal information by way of telephone calls, emails or regular mail correspondence. Contact the Lambertville Police Department prior to responding to any of these potential scams.

Residents are also reminded to lock the doors to their vehicles and not to leave anything of value inside.
