Riverside Presents "Around The World For The Holidays" In Lambertville

Symphonia to Hold Holiday Concert featuring its 2022 Caprio competition winner.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — As part of the Riverside Symphonia's 33rd season, the symphony will return to South Hunterdon Regional High School for its beloved "Around the World for the Holidays" concert.

The Symphonia’s annual holiday concert traditionally marks the start of the season's celebrations for many in the area and this year's presentation will bring a variety of classical and pop holiday music offerings from Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Israel, Spain, Mexico, and the USA.

Audience members new and old will love the surprise selections this year that will create an unforgettable festive experience.

"The bi-annual appearance of our Caprio winner as a special soloist is a treasured tradition that not only gives the students and young artists a chance to perform with a professional symphony, but it also ensures that a new generation of performers continue to foster the great legacy of music tradition in the Lambertville/NewHope area," said Paul Kuhl, Chair of the Riverside Symphonia Board.

Among the surprise musical selections from around the world, the concert will feature the illuminating soprano, Ethel Trujillo, as well as Yvonne Wang, who was the 2022 Caprio Young Artist Competition winner.

Wang will be a featured soloist at the event and will showcase the power of her virtuosity on clarinet and its ability to illuminate the spirit.

The performance is designed to appeal to both music lovers and aspiring young performers alike.

Riverside Symphonia Music Director Mariusz Smolij noted, "A glorious atmosphere of celebration can be found in the works we are presenting. The lyrical panache of the program will conjure up a feeling of reflection and warmth, and a mood of great joy will radiate for all to hear. Our program will be summed up by an uplifting medley of carols and holiday tunes. Our featured vocalist Ethel Trujillo, as well as the amazing Caprio Winner Yvonne Wang, will create an experience not to be missed.”

"Musical Celebration of the Holidays" takes place Saturday, December 3 beginning at 8 p.m. at South Hunterdon Regional High School in Lambertville, N.J. Tickets can be ordered online or by phone.
